Public Libraries & Homeschooling: A Partnership History
Introduction
The decision to explore the history and relationship of homeschooling families and public libraries was born from curiosity as a potential homeschooler, along with an apparent lack of professional research on the topic of how the relationship began. Although its existence is widely acknowledged, facts concerning the beginnings of this partnership seem to be lacking. During preliminary research, a set of research questions presented themselves regarding the origin of this close relationship between home educators and public libraries.
